As we head into this weekend's winter storm and the threat of power outages looms, everyone using a generator should know this important information about your Generac generator.

We have been extremely busy this week trying to get to as many customers as possible to service and ensure their generators are operating properly and ready when/if there are power outages.

With that in mind, no generator is a complete fail-safe and you should ensure that you are prepared in the event that your generator should fail and you may need alternative heating sources.

Please note that If your generator is running for an extended period of time due to an outage, it is important to check your oil levels in your generator every 24-48 hours of run time. Your generator must FIRST be shut down properly before checking the oil level. Please follow proper shut down procedure as explained below. Failure to properly shut down your generator when it is running under a load may cause damage to your generator!

Oil type for adding oil should be 5W-20 and you should only need to add a small amount each time. Please do not overfill oil!
